I just beat Unrealy 2..... I thought the game was pretty sweet up until the last 2 or 3 missions, then the storyline just dropped off a cliff into a void of crap. Sim City 4 had a bit to be desired, at first I thought it wasn't too bad but then lost my interest very quick. but anyways......

I don't have the internet right now so I need a good single player game to keep me occupied for the next couple of weeks until i move back to school. I heard CC Generals is pretty sweet. Any other suggestions?

I don't like Generals.

what kind of games do you like? Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate 2 are both awesome if you enjoy RPG.

You've probably already played it (since it came out last year), but Warcraft 3 had a great single player experience.

I second Warcraft III, although it gets boring after a while too. Of course you could always try a Playboy and a hanky.

For some reason I really just feel like playing a 1st person shooter right now. I have warcraft 3 but just haven't played it yet and probalby won't feel like it for a while. I just wish Doom 3 would come out :D

Has anyone played James Bond Nightfire? That doesn't sounds like too bad of a first person shooter. GTA3 doens't sound too bad either.... I just wish they had vice city out for PC....

Nightfire is supposed to be horrible on pc.

Freelancer is a TON of fun, I'm going to try and pick it up somewhere when it gets cheap. Think Diablo in space, with massive replayability.

There's a demo of it on MS's site, check it out, it's good stuff.

It's been out for awhile now, but I found NOLF2 to be a great single player experience. Freelancer is pretty fun too as people have mentioned, but I find playing multiplayer a lot more fun than the single player with Freelancer. Still though it's worth a look if you're into space sim/shooters.

Aliens vs. Predator II. I got mine for $5 (CC big box game). GREAT game! Playing as the alien was especially fun (getting revenge on those evil humans - you have to "eat" them to get "health") and being able to utilize the walls and ceilings exactly as the floor is a great perspective. I am playing as the Marine now (and it is CREEPY getting surprised by Aliens) . . . and noticing the SAME scenes from a different perspective when I was an alien . . . can play as a Predator too.

And NOLF II is good . . .

.hack/infection for the PS2

it's part 1 of a 4part game... each part takes about 20+ hours to complete, if you play STRAIGHT thru... if not... 30-40 hours.

plus.. once you 'beat' the game's story... there's still ALOT to do.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is a great game. #2 is out, but #1 may be really cheap now. They are pretty similar if you also have the expansion packs for the first one.

I thought Nightfire was pretty sweet on GC and I was hoping it'd be the same on PC :(

HALF LIFE
Doom II.

been there, done that.... ;)

I'm hoping you mean that freelancer is better than Dungeon Siege then ;) my Dialbo I, II, and expansion pack are just sitting in my bedroom since i'm beaten them (well not DI, it just came in the pack) I've been looking for something comparable ever since, and DS definately didn't do it for me.

How is Splinter Cell and SOF2? I've heard good things about SOF2 but not too much about Splinter cell.

Also what about Sniper, Path of Vengance? I've heard mixed reviews about that but boy do I love to snipe :)

I just have this huge earge to KILL THINGS!!! (wether that's good or bad, i dunno) It probably stems from me having to work in this little @ss town w/ nothing to do after I'm done working for the day :D I just can't wait until I get back to school and can feed the addiction w/ some good 12 hour marathons of CS ;) But alas, for now I'm stuck w/ playing a bunch of bots in Q3A :/

Like to kill "sprites"?

AvPII (killing with Marine or Predator weapons or tearing apart your enemies as an alien).

Serious Sam (OE and SE) - you get to kill MORE than ANY other game (more enemies on screen at one time and you get the weapons to do the job - MINDLESS killing)

RtCW - kill Nazis and Zombies (lots)

Star Trek Voyager - Elite Forces - the BEST Star Trek game - set Phasers to FRAG.

NOLF I and II - great weapons - you're a SupaSpy!

ANd Half-Life (inc mods), Quake (I-III), MDK2, Unreal, Alice . . .

Well, it's not exactly like diablo, but it's similar in that it's a simplified RPG. Flight is super easy (you fly with the mouse, hold down the left button for free flight, mousewheel controls speed, right button fires weapons) and leveling up is based on cash (I think). There's practically no learning curve to speak of. You can upgrade weapons on your fighter, or purchase new fighters with more hardpoints (I currently have one with four hardpoints and two different types of cannons on each). If combat isn't your thing, you can buy a freighter (there is some combat with freighters, but I've not delved into that yet) and trade. Or, you can become a pirate and attack freighters :). Check out the gamespot review here.

I'm definatly picking this up. Just gotta get some cash first :)

Check out the demo, it's very involved and will give you a very good idea about how the game play is.
