Picked it up for $19.99 at CompUSA, I'm nearly done with it (Bought GTA3, that's been taking my time).

I liked it a lot.

I wanted to play SOF2, but it kept crashing my box. Never could figure it out, so I bought Nightfire to satisfy my FPS urges.

I can't complain, it's a good game.

Nightfire is fun for a few hours if you are into the whole James Bond thing.

I would recommend Splinter Cell. I am completely addicted to that game. It's so amazing.

I thought Unreal II sucked. It was all eye candy.

I'm picking up Freelancer tonight. It's not really like Diablo I/II - I believe all the weapons and such are fixed as opposed to randomly generated. Once you get the best stuff and have explored everything there's nothing left to do. With Diablo you could play for the rest of your life and still be looking for better equipment. I'm still getting Freelancer cause it's just huge and fun to explore. I played a lot of the demo (only one system out of maybe a couple dozen) and there's plenty I missed.

Another vote for NOLF2. Beautiful graphics engine and one of the most enjoyable single player games I've played in awhile. BF1942 was another great single player game.

CivIII has the ability to eat up hours and hours of time, if you like turn-based strategy.

drinking alone doesn't work anymore ;)

Oh bud it always works, but it's very bad for health and wallet (if you drink 12 y.o. whiskey like me). Unlike it, gaming is depressing, I have found computer gaming to be x10 time worse for killing your pain than even polishing a carrot. Screw these stupid kiddy games, even 10 y.o. kids know how much they suck. Just open the window, let the fresh air inside and realize how many opportunities you have. Just grab them, and if you don't have these opportunities floating around create them for yuorself. Huh, hope I haven't bugged you too much.

It's not necessary to hide and run from the pain, for example when I fell in love and was rejected I tried to develop my pain into something different than just pain or killing it, I knew I didn't need to distract myself from it but to work on it to fix the 'issues'.

Splinter Cell is awesome. If you are into that spy stuff, then it's for you. While there are many places where you can shoot-out, there are also many places that stealth is required. It also has a little higher learning curve than others and a couple of my friends couldn't figure it out. Me... I beat it in a week.

Also, I'm Going In 2 (IGI 2) just came out so you may want to look into that.

And this month, Black Hawk Down and Raven Shield come out... keep your eyes on those.

I've been playing, and enjoying, Mafia.

Ditto. Play (or replay) Mafia.

Mafia kinda lost my interest.... it was a little too slow pased for me... I HATE driving around in those damn cars, it feels like it takes forever!!!! The racing car was pretty fatty, even though I couldn't beat the race so I had to use the "cheat" for it ;) I think I might give Splinter Cell a try.

On a kind of off note.... has anyone heard anything about Counterstide 2? I thought I saw some screenshots of a beta a while back. I wasn't impressed and I haven't heard much since.

I was playing the Freelancer demo just now.. the script is terrible. "If we are going to work together, call me Jane". And why does everyone in that bar assume you're looking for work when you say "What's going on?" Not to mention the lack of joystick control. I'll skip this game.
