um, yeah... what the title says. as some of you may know, i've been doing my 3 miles a day but i realized that my shoes are about half a size too big or so (the laces are so tight the pull the two sides of the shoe to touch, and it's still loose). so i need new shoes. i like new balance, any model in particular or something? or any other good ones i'm overlooking? tia!

What kind of running do you do? On road or on trails?

I run XC and Track, and I run on pavement, grass, trails, snow, etc. I wear the New Balance 704's.....second pair:) I really like them, but I also like Adidas trail running shoes.... It's mainly personal preference though, so try em on before you buy.

I live and die by Asics Gel Trabucos.

3+ years of HS cross-country and track back up my claims.

I love to run in Asics. I have run in the Kayanos for 3 years, and one year i went with the nimbus bc i needed shoes the next day. If you have a wide foot then go for Asics. If not i would just recomend going with what feels good. Try and stay away from all of that designer nike boing crap and all those air pocket things. In my experience all they do is make the shoe heavier and they take alot longer to breaking that a regular shoe. The best thing to do is try on shoes. Go to one of those huge shoe stores (i like finishline bc they have coupons) and look at the shoes on clearance. I can usually get last years Kayanos ($130 shoe) for around $80, and i will tell you that shoes change very little from year to year.

all depends on your foot really. If you have a narrow foot, go with Nike or Adidas. I have a wide foot and New Balances are awesome. They definitely motivate me to run knowing I'm not going to be feeling it too bad afterwards. My g/f swears by her Asaic Cumulus. Really you have to pick the shoe that fits your foot the best.

For all-purpose running, New Balance 704s or 636s are nice. If you do more trail running, the 804/805s are great trail shoes. I've also heard great things about Asics, but have not tried any yet. I'd go for the 704s if you do both road and trail running.

My father, a marathon runner, uses the above Nike and would respectfully disagree were I to have the balls to call him and wake him up to ask. :) I recently picked up a pair myself and am very please. They come with inserts for flat feet as well.

get the adidas "achilles heels". most shoe stores don't sell them, so you'll have to order them directly from adida's site. they have ridges!

i hate Nikes b/c every pair i've ever owned has falled apart in a meer couple months (yes, i know about the warranty policy NOW), but some of the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn were a pair of Nike Air Max Triax. They were great. This was about two years ago, i'd imagine they still make them, but don't quote me on it.

I would have to agree with you. I wouldn't actually buy the other Nike trainers with air to go running in though. The Nike Shox I have are great for running and feel great.

They still make the Nike Air Max Triax.
