Need new PSU for new mobo, info about that new 12V connector?

Hello,

I just got a Chaintech VNF3-250 mobo and today I need to buy a new case+psu to built the system. By reading the manual I found out about the 12V power connector that's separated from the normal ATX power connector. Do I need to buy a PSU that has that 12V 4-pin connector ???, or that connector is optional ?. The chaintech manual that's not make that fact clear.
