Hey guys, I need some help on getting a new phone.

Currently I have a q9c and it has been good for nearly 3 years. I think something is wrong with it because it is crashing all the time now. I am going to try and master reset but if it keeps crashing I am going upgrade the phone.

Which ones do you like right now. I am hesitate to get the TP2 because of the bulkiness and price tag 300 is way to much for what I do on the phone.

I was thinking of the palm PRO. The samsung touchscreen looks like crap in my opinion. Do any of you have experience with the new phones or have other suggestions.

Also I can live with a beat up q9c for six months if windows 7 mobile is coming out with cool phones. I tend to keep my phones a long time and don't want to spend 150 on a phone that going to be feel outdated so quickly. Windows 7 info is so scattered and I really don't understand the features or timeline of the release of the software.

Thank for the input.

sorry SERO is special plan on sprint for $30 a month with 500 anytime plus unlimited everything else.

The catch is they don't allow you to have the best phones. For example instinct, pre, android, and blackberry's are not allowed. All windows mobile phones are allowed though

You sure? I log into my Sprint (SERO) account and you can view all the available phones....those are all in there, and only a click away from upgrading.

Jjmlll - trust me, it may look like it, but they will "upgrade" your plan if you get a blackberry, android, instinct, or webos phone.

Op - palm treo pro is decent, but I just can't stand windows mobile. Honestly though, your choice of smartphones is so limited with the $30/$50 old sero plans, you basically have no choice except windows mobile phones or a treo 755p :p

yeah I was hoping I could hold out for a decent windows 7 phone but I will probaly take the palm pro. I know many people like the old palm os but I had an old palm and hated it.

Is the Touch Pro that amazing? 300 is a lot of money.

The best phone you can get on SERO is the Touch Pro 2 but it is rather spendy. Next is the already mentioned Treo Pro and Samsung. The Samsung has 6.5 out of the box where the Treo Pro is still 6.1. The screen resolution on the Samsung sucks as well. If the TP2 is to much I would take the Treo Pro and flash it with an aftermarket 6.5 ROM.

So, no one has had luck getting a decent smartphone (android, instinct, pre) on the SERO plan?

My 2yr contract for SERO is up on the 26th and looking for some options.

It's not possible. There is no way around it. The system will not let one of those phones on a SERO or any other legacy plan. Everything Data, Simply Everything, and EPRP are the only choices.

@AntiFreze - There is a really long thread on SlickDeals about your situation - if you relinquish your SERO plan, you can usually get retentions to give you a $20 credit each month for two years. You can then get on a different plan that is eligible for the newer phones. The thread is mostly about some pretty shady methods of getting Corporate discounts that you're not really eligible for, but if you sort through that there is good info.

That isn't available anymore. It was really started to keep people from leaving due the a small fee increase. It technically went out 12/31 but was still available with a supervisors approval through the end of January. I haven't seen anyone get in February. If you change to an ED plan they will likely work with you to get kind of discount on it.
