Need new mobo for my Geforce4 TI4400. NForce, KT333, NForce2?

Hi everyone. If you havent seen my desperate help thread about how my Abit KR7A and my PNY Geforce4 TI4400 are incompatible, it is here.

So anyways, I am selling my Abit KR7A, and need a new motherboard that WILL work with my Geforce4. I was thinking either NForce or KT333, or is it worth the wait for NForce2?

Here are my system specs:
Athlon XP 1900 (I will be overclocking with both multiplier and FSB)
PNY Geforce4 TI4400
Crucial 256mb PC2100
Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm
Hercules Fortissimo II
Samsung 32x10x40
Netgear NIC
Antec TRU430 power supply

As you can see, I clearly do not want onboard video (if I got an NForce I would get the SPP chipset), onboard sound would do me no good, RAID doesnt do much for me, and an onboard network card wouldnt do me much good either.

I want something that is fast, overclocks well, isnt very pricy, and I could care less about onboard features.

Any suggestions? I know that NForce2 is supposed to come out late September, but under my circumstances, would it be worth getting it?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I think the Epox EP-8K5A2 sounds like the board for you, great overclocker ,no RAID and good price,it`s based on the VIA KT333 chipset.

You know, I almost bought that board instead of my Abit, but I bought it right when the KT333 boards were coming out and they were still too expensive. Any other opinions?

EDIT: One more thing I should ask. Does the Thermalright AX-7 fit on this? That is another requirement that must be met.

Well I dont have any USB devices, and I already have a nice Hercules Fortissimo II sound card. So I will go for which ever one is the cheapest.

That`s the maximum officially supported speed so you can use either PC2700,PC2100,PC1600 ram with no problems, the other boards you meantion are all good,it`s all down to the features of each board and what you prefer,if you want USB 2.0 support go with 8K5A2 or 8K5A3+ .

It should fit.

Edit: Actually, I took a look at the Epox board, the capacitators are pretty close to the cpu. It doesn't look like it will fit.... Just buy a new heatsink!

Edit2: No. Actually it doesn't fit. It will fit on a 8k3a if you want to buy that instead.

Well I will look for a different mobo, maybe the 8K3A. I dont feel like buying a new heatsink, because I paid $30 for this one. Unless you know of a better heatsink that I could get for a good price (I want to overclock high), I will probably just keep this. Thanks.

Hello

Yes, the AX-7 fits on the Epox 8K5A2+ (i have one on it right now). So it should also fit on 8K5A2 too since both the boards are the same.

hope that helps.

Thanks

Alright cool. It is $15 more than the 8k3ae, but it does come with sound (which i dont need). Probably buy it from newegg tommorow.
