the one came with my chip (retail)fan is bad ..never liked it anyway and its getting hot here already so what do you think is the one to get..thanks
 
I just ordered one of these for on my Abit KT7-RAID motherboard, to replace my previous Alpha PAL6035 (w/60mm Sunon fan). Although my whole purpose of this new heatsink&fan is for a quiter cooler, from what I've read from other people here at AT forums, it sounds like this a a good "bang-for-your-buck" cooler.

As for whether it fits on the epox 8k7a, that I don't know.

Alpha PAL 8045. Best there is, hands down. Takes an 80mm fan so you can go from a quiet Panaflo L1a to some noisey Delta depending on how much cooling you need.

Mounts to MoBo also, so it won't fall off and let your CPU burn up.
 
I have heard that the Alpha needs an edge shaved off to clear a capacitor on the 8KHA+.
Can anyone verify this?
