need new fans and heatsink

hey guys i need some help ASAP. CPU temp -> 65 - 75 C normally and MB is around 30 C. i need a new heatsink ASAP so my cpu dones't overheat. right now im just using hte fans i got w/ the case n 2 cheap ones so im looking to replace all of em.

4 are 80 mm and i have a Socket A chip. i was looking at the Thermaltake Smart Case Fan II 80 mm to replace all of em (the price per unit goes down if u get more). right now my fans are pretty damn noisy so i dont think these would be much worse (if any) than the ones i have in right now. If you have any other fans that would be able to cool down my system plz tell me

btw, im looking to spend less than $70 for all 5 fans and the heatsink.

p.s. im having trouble finding a heatsink that would fit a Socket A and hold an 80 mm fan so if u find one plz tell me!

A thermal take SI-97 will hold a 80mm or a 92mm and it is for socket A I have on that I use now on my mobo with a xp2400 running at 2.3 gig Idel is like 29'c/31'c depending on temp of the room and under load it goes up to like 34'c/37'c I use a 92mm delta with a fan controller so I can quiet it down when I don't need it and turn it up for gaming...

I thought thermal right made the SI-97.

Panaflo fans are generally considered better than Thermaltake, although i havent used thermaltake fans, so i cant really comment.

thermalright makes the SI-97. however, i can't find the requested panaflo fan for sale anywhere! the model # is FBL09A12M.

besides that, anyone got any suggestions for the 4 case fans?

If you need 80mm case fans, use Low/Medium speed panaflos. Would it be possible for you to use a 120mm instead of an 80mm in any of these situations? This would be quieter.

The requested fan for the XP-90 is a "90mm Medium Speed Panaflo". You can use any 90mm/92mm Fan though.

The SI-97 is most likely going to give you the best performance. Another good option would be the Zalman 7000AlCu, also good performance a bit simpler due to the integrated fan.

If you decide to get the SI-97, I would prolly get one of thse Panaflo / Sanyo Denki / Delta all should be very quiet, I have the 80mm version of the Sanyo on my Alpha. Note, it doesn?t look like the Panaflo or Delta have RPM readouts.

Case fans: I would say 80mm L1A's hands down.

P.S. Thermaltake is junk.

I had the same problem - it's most likely dust. Take the stock heatsink off, blow out the dust, and put it back on.... if your heatsink won't come off DO NOT YANK IT. Fire up your PC for a minute or two (it's already running hot), turn it off and then pull it off. Get an Airblower and blow the dust out. You don't really need a new heastink anyways, unless somethign's up with the stock cooler.

hmm...i'll def. try to clean out my heatsink n if that doesn't cool it down a lot i'll just get a new heatsink+fan. seems like a unanimous vote for the SI-97 and a panaflo.

btw, i can't convert any of hte fans to 120 cause of the case. well at least ANYTHING will be quieter than what i've got in there now...i can flippin hear it at the bottom of hte stairs!!!

**edit** alright, well i cleaned out my heatsink and my cpu is CONSIDERABLY cooler. went from 75 to 42 C. even tho this still isn't very good as far as cpu temps go, its enough to make me happy 🙂

plus im broke so i guess i'll just wait unitl i get my next system to put in some good coolin devices n other stuff. thanks for the help guys!
