Need new display

Would really appreciate your opinions on monitor choice. I need to get a new one very soon and don't know a whole lot about what is good in the $250 range. My primary use will be studying/research, but also gaming when time allows. These are some that seem to be ok.

ASUS VW266H I like that this is 1920x1200

SAMSUNG BX2431
