I'm looking for something in the ELPH size category that will take good low light indoor pics. My pentax optio s (3mp about 2 years old) really produced some poor pics on my last trip when the light was not great. My Cannon S-110 has been stable and I love it save for the redeye in every bar pic ever.

Options?

Not interested in large SLR cameras but want best quality for size. Media does not matter but I do not want memory sticks. Currently I have SD memory for the pentax. Price range: $200-350 or diff if I can be convinced it is worth it.

Redeye is caused from the light reflecting off the blood vessels in the back of a person's eye. It's going to be a problem in bar pics because there is very little ambient light and people's pupils will be wide open. It's compounded further by small cameras with the flash placed close to the lens. Since the light that goes into the subject's pupils is direct, it gets reflected directly back at the lens. A camera with a redeye reduction flash will flash before the actual picture is taken in addition to when it is taken. This is to help constrict the subject's pupils in attempt to minimize the amount of light that goes into them (and comes out of them).

Yea and that is why my optiop-s is good in bars but when I'm in a church I get lowsey photos due to low light and infinite focus.

I've been thinking about the sd300. Just trying to see if there are any other options. My dad's has image stabalisation are there any small cameras with that?

the Canon S410 is nice. basically a replacement for the older S110. i used to have a S110, but just upgraded to a Canon A85. the A85 is great if you want to dabble with manual focus and change lenses and stuff, something which the smaller S models can't do.
