Need Multi-threaded DVD movie creation app

I've tried Xilisoft DVD Creator, which is multithreaded, but the quality of this program leaves a lot to be desired.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a multithreaded app for creating DVD movie discs whose quality doesn't suck.

I've got a Core i7 CPU with 12GB RAM.

I basically don't want to spend all day ripping/converting a 2-3GB .mov, .mkv, .wmv, etc. file so that I can burn it to DVD that I can watch on my HDTV.

DeVeDe is a little multithreaded; but in general MPEG2 encoding isn't easy to multi-thread.

Then perhaps you're looking at this the wrong way? Maybe you should get a set-top box like a Google TV box?
