need more power?

Just built a mini system
everything put together, installed XP and some programs
turned it off, and turned it on again several hours and strange things started to happen
first it wouldn't boot(power on but nothing on the screen)
then the cooler fan video card stops, for like 15sec then starts up again and stop ect...
WTF?
I took it a part and did bare boot and it works...
I'm wondering if this rig needs more power
because it's mini I had to use mATX PSU, can't find anything above 250w

mobil xp2600 at 1.5v
sata drive
cdrw
dvd drive
9600xt
1 x 80mm fan
3 x 60mm fan
2 x blue LEDs
usb keyboard
usb mouse

all that with 250w PSU

If you have another power supply around, try that, it may be a bit too much power for that 250, also, what brand is that psu.

I found that site that calculates how much power i need
turns out I need about 270~
gonna remove some fans and see what happens...

Aren't those sites that calculate power needed notoriously inaccurate ?

Not inaccurate, more towards "maximum peak wattages."

Here's the psu calculator site LINK

Apparantly, it's rather conservative (over estimates wattage needed). But that could be because many cheapo psu overstate their power anyway.
