Alright, so last month I picked up a diamond 4850 and have been using it to game on my 19 inch LCD monitor, then I discovered the beautiful world of gaming on my 42 inch LCD TV.

Playing COD5:WaW I seem to get a consistent low-mid 40s, though when things get tough on screen it tends to bog down to the lower 30s.

My setup is as following:

Intel C2Q 9300 @ 2.9GHz
Single Diamond HD4850
2GB OCZ Platinum Revision 2 Memory.

What will I need to get consistent 50-60s? Another 4850 for CF? 4870? 4870x2?

Separate question too, is it possible to watch movies on my TV from my PC, but still be able to browse on my desktop from my computer monitor?

When I set windows to adjust the desktop on my TV to 1920x1080p, it leaves my desktop unable to browse, it'll just show the wallpaper.

Cheapest bet is to throw another 4850 at it.

Separate question = yes, I do it all the time, though haven't tried it with a 1080p display.

Try out theater mode in CCC. Can you squeeze a bit more out of the 4850? Hell slap a 30 dollar cooler on the 4850 and crank it up with ati tools and see what happens.

I'm curious - what's wrong with this? 30 fps should be pretty smooth.

That's weird. I don't consider myself particularly anal with FPS when it comes to games. But I notice some lag when the game drops to the low 30s.
