Timings table

I'm trying to set the '500 spd' in my bios for a Maximus II Formula but I don't know how cause of the abbreviations etc.

My current settings:

1st Information:

5 CAS# Latency
5 DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay
5 DRAM RAS# Precharge
15 DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge
3 RAS# to RAS# Delay
65 Row Refresh Cycle Time
6 Write Recovery Time
4 Read to Precharge Time

2nd Information

8 READ to WRITE Delay (S/D)
3 Write to Read Delay (S)
5 WRITE to READ Delay (D)
4 READ to READ Delay (S)
6 READ to READ Delay (D)
4 WRITE to WRITE Delay (S)
7 WRITE to WRITE Delay (D)

3rd Information

14 WRITE to PRE Delay
5 READ to PRE Delay
1 PRE to PRE Delay
6 ALL PRE to ACT Delay
6 ALL PRE to REF Delay

and what does the "S" and "D" mean in 2nd info?

Thanks in advance

I was going to write up definitions for those to the best of my knowledge, but honestly, i only really mess with the primary timings, tRD (Performance Level), tRFC, & stuff like Clock Twister, etc.

This will explain it far better than i could try to.

Not sure why it's a moderator help thing unless he was asking for me to post here.

I'd recommend reading thru the timing explanations @ the above link; it details them well.

Matching how MemSet words the values with what Asus calls them is the fun part...it can be a headache.

I've read all of that and decided to post here and ask. I've read read and re-read the bios abbreviations and tried to match the numbers up but its a joke.

Okay.

You know the top four.

CL = CAS# Latency
tRCD = DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay
tRP = DRAM RAS# Precharge
tRAS = DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge

CR = Command Rate; not technically adjustable in Intel chipsets
tRC = Never seen this to be adjustable in Intel chipsets

tRRD = RAS# to RAS# Delay

tWR = Write Recovery Time

tWTR = Write to Read Delay. Now there are a couple named the same in our BIOSes, so you'll have to figure this one out manually. Adjust them one at a time in the BIOS till you see the value Memset reports change to the same as you've set in the BIOS. Actually, upon second look, based on your BIOS settings, it looks like Memset is reporting it wrong, so lol, good luck with this one.

tRTP = READ to PRE Delay

tREF = no option for this one for us

There you go. All of those EPP SPD values matched to your BIOS's corresponding names values excepting one.

Now go have fun not POSTing after you change them :laugh:

Actually after a day of the post, I ended up getting things stable, someone just brought this up again but I appreciate the help. I think your game crashing might possibly be due to gpu or NB overheating...

What, after all that work, you're not going to go eff your subtimings up in the BIOS?!

Damnit man, i wouldn't have bothered to figure it all out :p

It's not GPU overheating (though it does run hot), as it's fine when system is stock or i back down OC.

NB overheating or instability, definitely possible, i'd agree.

Still seems odd it can take the raping from LinPack max RAM or HCI Memtest set to use nearly all RAM fine & not the minor RAM usage of a game though if it's NB overheating though...
