Need mobo advice

Hi,

I need some advice on which motherboard my cousin should use.
He is a music composer, so needs good memory/hard drive perfomance i think.

The problem is he has 1 isa device.
The only board with an I815e chipset with an isa slot is the msi i815e pro which is not being distributed here in australia only the 6pci version is.

So, it looks like he will have to go with a thunderbird or p3 with a via chipset.

Which board would you recommend if he went the AMD way. So far I have only seen the gigabyte and abit kt7 with a isa slot.
I'm not too sure on the abit board as the manufacturers of his sound card which is event gina said it still has issues with this board as it doesnt have it with the other kt133 boards.

Not too sure on the p3 via boards.

Basically which way would you all go, amd or p3 via, and which board/s.

Also, are there any compatibility issues with these boards under win2k or 98 and is the memory performance still lower than intel

Thxs in advance.

I'm using the new Epox EP-8KTA2 and it works great and has 6 PCI and 1 ISA slots, along with FSB multipliers, voltage adjustment, 4 USB, and ATA100 support. Currently running a Duron 600 at 900MHz.

Worth considering.
