I have been an AMD user for years now and haven't paid much attention to Intel until recently. I realized that I know next to nothing about Intel MB's, so I came here to hopefully get some direction. I plan on getting a P4 2.8 (800mhz) and 1024 Dual DDR PC3200. Which MB's should I look into for a good Price/Performance ratio for this setup? There seems to be soooo many, and it can be a little confusing for a newbie like me. :)

Thanks much!

I'd recommend to you any of Abit's IS7 boards. They are fairly cheap, and have a lot of features.

There are four different versions which you can compare
here depending on the features that you need.

Also the Asus boards are very good. The P4P800 is the 865 chipset and if you can spend a little more the P4C800 is the 875 chipset.

The Abit IS7/IC7 series seems to be quite popular. One question that could make recommending a board a little easier is if you plan on overclocking.

I have seen mixed reviews about all of the boards above. Personally I am going with an Abit AI7 since it has fetched positive reviews all around the net and can attain a very good overclock.

GOing to the "Dark Side" myself. Ordered a 2.6C and IC7 from NewEgg, expect them Monday. They will go good with my 2x512MB CMX3500C2PT and 2xRaptors on Raid 0 :)

Looks like a lot of people are moving to the Dark Side lately, including myself. You can't go wrong with an Abit board. The IS7 will be my 5th Abit.
