To make a long story shorty. I have recently found a one time use coupon that will basically enable to me to purchase the Envision LCD for free. Actually, they will be paying about $70 after I send in the rebate. Is it illegal for me to use this coupon? If they actually send me the LCD to they have the right to take it back? Thanks.

Something tells me there's more to this story than what you say here. If you simply got a coupon worth the cost of the LCD, then I see no wrong. Back in the old days of coupons that didn't include a minimum purchase, many of us often got things for free, or made money after rebates.

to be absolutely honest with you, there isn't much more to the story. i simply found a coupon that was for the amount of the lcd. using my common sense, i dont think their is such a coupon....therefore i was thinking maybe that coupon was a reward for dividend members for making purchases from staples. thats what im worried about.

once they send you the LCD the transaction is considered over. They'd have a hard time getting it back from you.

Do you think that they are really going to hire a lawyer to come after you or anyone for that matter for a $500 monitor?

Do you really think this one-time use coupon hasn't been used by anyone else yet? Honestly - they can't do anything to you other than deny you the use of the coupon to their discretion. Most of the cashiers (myself included) don't really care much - we just put in the code and let the computer accept/not accept it. BTW, if the coupon is printed out on a piece of paper from a website I highly doubt it will work - the way coupons work is we enter in the code and enter the number of dollars off - any of the coupons you bring in for $15 off $100 we can basically turn into a $100 off $100 if we (meaning the cashier) wanted to. Short of the manager calling corporate to check the validity of the coupon they'll probably just accuse you of making up a coupon in Photoshop that says $250 off $250 (or whatever your coupon says)
