Need laptop suggestions

I'm good with desktops, but really don't know enough about laptops to trust myself in buying one. My wife needs it for work, all it needs to do is run photoshop decently cs3, stuff like that. She's running that stuff atm at home with no issues on a 5yr old computer. I would think that any laptop that I look at would be faster than what she has atm, and would be fine

Battery life isn't important, she's going to be next to a plug all the time. Video card, ight be nice to play something equivelant to wow, maybe, but not important really. She was running a radeon 9800 pro up till a few months ago and it was fine.

Needs a 16in screen, and I will probably get it from best buy unless neweg has a sweet deal, and finally I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible, best buy has 1 for $550 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...oduct&id=1218041998788

That one looks fine to me though I hate HP, and I don't really want vista, in fact I am wondering if it would be ok to format it right out of the box and install xp instead.

I need to add that the laptop must come from best buy, going on a credit card. I'm not a fan of dell just because the reason I am having to get this for my wife is both dells gotten for her have died within weeks right of the box, and the support wasn't to great. I need to be able to take it into a store and have it fixed rather than shipping it off also.

I'm curious...what's the average time to get a PC repaired at Best Buy? I always get next-business day, on-site service for my Dells and have always been satisfied with the service.

No idea but I do know that I would rather drop it off and let them wory about shipping rather than me. Plus 2 crappy dell desktops is why I am having to buy the laptop

Do you realize that Adobe Photoshop loves Apple MacBook Pro? That is what many artists except me love MacBook Pro.
