looking for that specific version because 3.87 seems to have a bug w/ vbr and id3v2 tags.

ah well, maybe i'll compile the source code myself... but i have a feeling i'd screw something up.. heh. so if anyone knows where i can get the older versions.. shoot.

I use the 3.87 version with absolutely no problems with VBR files and ID3v2 tags. What player/ID3 prog are you using?

i haven't quite run into the problem exactly, i just read there was a problem.. it writes corrupt id3v2 tag when in VBR mode. was on the r3mix forums and some guy has a perl script that is pretty nice. His readme file mentions it.

If you still want ver. 3.86, i have it and could email it to you. Is the bug the fact that it reports the wrong playing time?
