I make good money in Chicago. Few of my best buds are in San Francisco. They have a job lined up for me which will pay twice of what I'm making right now.
I am very satisfied with the current job. Best work environment that I have witnessed. Friends with boss and great people all around. Very stable job.

Should I venture in the unknown or be satisfied with my current situation. I rent and am looking for a house.
Suggestions are welcomed.

If you're satisfied and make good money then why change? You also should consider the living costs in S.F.

Best advice:

If you like where you live now and like where you work and are satisfied with your job and lifestyle, why bother changing it?

I guess I'm bieng selfish ... Cost of living will equalize the amount money earned. I wanted to be close to people I grew up with.

I wouldn't.

You seem to have something most people dream of: A stable life and a family. I wouldn't endanger either one by moving across the country for some friends. You'll make new friends.

Plus, if you game on line, Teamspeak is an excellent tool for staying in touch. I have old friends 1600 miles away that I'm probably in too close of contact with. 😛
