I own a viewsonic GS790, i've had it for about 3months, the 1st 2 weeks of usage it turned off by itself twice but when i turned it back on right after i didn't see any problems, & it hasn't happended anymore, but my desktop color is black & there is a light white glow on the right side of all icons & on the bottom of the taskbar, is thi normal? i don't notice this glow as much in the day because of the sunlight but at night with on the lamp on i can really see it? & every few weeks on the lower right hand corner the monitor has a green glow when it's on a white background? anyone know why this happens, this problem also happens on my panasonic tv when it shows a white area it starts getting green, is this a problem with the crt tube? i asked for a rma, should i just get a refund?

Sounds to me like you have something magnetic near it like speakers or something. It's also possible that it needs to be degaussed.

i have the fps2000 speakers, & i do have one that's placed on a shelf above my monitor, it's abut 6inch away from the top of the monitor & i have another to the left which is over 2 feet away. these green glow do dissapper if i turn off the monitor & back on again, but the viewsonic manual say the monitor degausses itself when it 1st turns on this these green glow happen when it first turn on but in a 2-3week period. any ideas about the white glow around icons or any objects that is on a back background like my desktop?

The speakers aren't the problem, I have the fps2000's and they're like 2 inches from my monitor. I think something is wrong with your monitor, get another from where you bought it, or from Viewsonic.
