Hey all,

I need to buy some inexpensive unbranded CD-Rs so I can CD stomp them with my own labels. Any recommendations for sites to get these at? I used to use www.cdrecordable.com .. but their prices seem a bit high now. I'd prefer CD-Rs that are silver on the data side, but it's not a huge requirement.

Thanks, guys

unbranded and not generic?
unbranded must be generic.
branded is also generic, there are only few factories making cd-r in this world.

I can only suggest Sony and Fujifilm, they're branded, generic (really, made by the major factories), and as cheap as unbranded, even cheaper when there is rebate.

I am going to buy some "Silver Diamond" 32x CD-Rs from CDR Express. Notice how they have other CD-Rs on that site that say "Generic". But the ones I'm getting say "Silver Diamond"... not sure what this means exactly. But it should get the job done :)

By unbranded he means nothing printed on the top of the CD.

Personally, I would find some unbranded Taiyo Yudens. Many places sell them.

blah, cdrexpress.com has bad ratings on resellerratings.com too. Isn't there any good, reliable, inexpensive source for unbranded CD-Rs?

Anything works, just head down to your local CompUSA, Best Buy, Office Max, Staples, Circuit City, or whatever you may have, and pick up their weekly special.

ok, i don' tunderstand why you want CDs with no logo on them. you do realize that you can use your cd stomper on ANY cd, logo or not. it just gets covered anyways....

You can often see the writing/logo through the label. I assume he wants to avoid that.

When I lived in Atlanta I bought all my CDs here: Tape Warehouse. They have a weinie website but they have many different types of unbranded CDRs and great prices (about $.60/ea.). My personal favorite were the Mitsui silvers, unbranded of course.

The last time I bought unbranded CDRs I got spindles of unbranded kodak platinum CDRs from CDRexpress. Unbranded certainly DOES NOT imply noname. I happen to prefer unbranded even just for using sharpies on, and quality ones. CDRexpress was good a few years ago, but they never seem to have the things in stock and seem to have taken on too many other things to sell. Sort of like what happened with express.com when they went to music CDs. If they had what you want at a good price, though, my experience was positive...albeit 2+ years ago.

Those are not CDs on a spindle, BTW. The spindles are in the $.20 to $.25 range.

EDIT: Sorry for the confusion. I don't buy CDs on spindles and I didn't see that in your post.

I prefer the unbranded ones myself, and aside from generic slick tops, the closest thing I have found with almost nothing on them at all are some TDKs that I got from CUSA. The TDK logo is shaded and not visible when a label is applied.
