I work in a biology lab and we have ended up doing behavior experiments that result in massive amounts of video files. We had a 1.5Tb drive that our data was all backed up on but it is getting filled up quickly.
I am looking to build a solution that consist of probably 2x3Tb drives (to start, with potential to add 2 more in future) in a redundant array. I don't have any NAS experience, but I have raided drives together in my own personal computer. We just need something that can be accessed from the lab (like a network drive), not online (no file serving or streaming required), and have password security, no encryption required.
Is there an off the shelf solution that has a power supply, network card, and is essentially plug n play?
Thanks for all your advice and assistance
