Need ideas for my oral report in spanish - I need to explain howto do/make something.

Need ideas for my oral report in spanish - I need to explain howto do/make something....I dont know anything good..can someone gimme ideas? Im half way thru spanish3 and report needs to be 3 min long, i guess its purpose is to show that we know how to use commands.

How about a recipe in spanish, including what to mix together. A good food would be cookies, since you mix stuff together.

A recipe for chivo stew would be great. I'll bet noone in your class, or your instructor, has ever eaten a really great goat stew.

I'll second the cooking reccomendation. Make something simple that requires no baking, then have enough for the class. Works especially well if teachers do peer evaluations of your speech and factor them into part of your grade 🙂

Yeah i was thinking about something that had to do with cooking...but i dont know exactly what..mabey some kinda cake or something.....3 minutes is a long time!...any more ideas or examples?

Do a piece on how to install your carte de video in your computador.

Try the Babelfish. It will translate any text you put into it to other languages, including Spanish, and it will even translate entire web pages if you enter a url. You could go to a page on Anand's site, or any other, and get some ideas.

Be careful to edit your text. The translations are very literal, so they are sometimes not exactly what you want to say or the way you would say it, but it might be a way to combine your interest in 'puters into your assignment. 🙂

< fixed link > 😱 🙂

If you have any sort of self respect, I would not do a report on how to install a video card in your computer, especialy in HS...
I would stick with cooking

Lol agreed.

Im lookin at recepeis for cake and cookies and stuff and theyre also short, since all it is, is mix and bake. grr....

Aieee, Chiwawa. If the idea is to write anything about how to do something, I think doing a computer-related piece wood be tres cool. Think about it, quick mix and bake isn't any more or less complicated than assembling a whole machine, let alone installing a vid card or any other peripheral. 🙂

I can think of a couple good brownie recepies, but I'm not exactly sure how legal they would be😛
I'm sure you'd get a good grade though

Lol..i really dont want people being like huh when i bust out a tutorial about computers....especialy when there are no visual props..everyone is pretty familiar with food, and basic ingredients.

Just curious. What planet is your school on where your classmates don't know what a vid card is.? Is there any reason you couldn't bring one for the presentation?

I've had to do these a few times and I've always thought that it would be funny to do one on how to get a bad grade on a spanish presentation. But then there's that little problem of getting a bad grade on it, so I've never actually done it. Doing a recipe is by far the easiest (and IMO best) way to do this report. You have to talk about getting the ingredients and then the mixing/baking/cooking instructions that follow. But if you don't want to do a recipe, there are tons of other things you could do. You could tell them how to unpack a Linux tarball or install the spanish dictionary (for spell and grammar checking) in MS Word or how to build your own computer. My advice would be to think of something that you like to do/make and choose that. It's becomes a much easier project when it's something you like.
