We have an approx 50' long driveway.

For some dumbass reason or another I decided to install metal edging about 20" to the side and fill the space in between with river rock.

I couldn't dig very deep(thanks south central TX) to bury the metal edging , so now it looks pretty bad - crooked, bent from where the wife drove over it a few times, etc..

I really like to look of having a river rock border, but need an idea on what to do.

Someone suggested to pull up the edging and dig a swath using a 4" wide pick to create a border. Then, I could put in pavers or some other material to act as a border.

any ideas out there?

I actually poured a concrete border around the drive area surrounding the front of our house then dyed and stamped it...everybody says they love it. Unfortunately, I have no newer pics right now, and satellite doesn't even believe our house exists lol.

I think your wife missing the paved surface by more than 20 inches may be a bigger problem than you are admitting. :hmm:

Wait... you've practically got a parking lot there... and your wife still can't stay in between the lines?

Some people like bricks and rocks, but I think nothing says welcome home, like the look of crushed skulls. The odd femur here or there is a nice touch.

Here is my suggestion:

A single row of raised belgian block pavers edging your driveway. You could also eplace the gravel with a flower bed which the pavers will protect from your wife.

i really like the river rock, though.... maybe border the yard with the belgian rock pavers, then river rock to the driveway?

don't forget the beating, though. otherwise you're bailing water without plugging the leak.
