need HSF advice

I'm upgrading to a Tbred 1700 and need a new heatsink for it. Noise is an issue, and I already have a Panaflo L1A that can go with it. I also want to be doing a bit of overclocking, and price is an issue. I haven't really been keeping up with heatsinks lately so I don't know what will work best for me. SVC has the Thermalright SK-6+ for $10. I remember this was at the top of the field a couple of years ago. They also have the AX-7 for $18 and the SK-7 for $20. Is there a noticeable difference between any of these? Should I be looking at something else entirely? I'd like to keep the price at or below $20.

Another possibility I found mentioned in another thread is this, at Newegg for $16.

That looks like a nice heatsink/fan you have linked there.
All copper (which is good for the heat transfer) and the fan speed is not real high, so that will help keep the noise down.

I have the Cooler Master HHC-001 (has built-in Heat Pipe) and overclocked my "T-Bred B" Athlon XP 2100+ (1.73GHz) to 2800+ speeds (2.3GHz)! Bewarned, this HSF is very loud, 6800RPM.

I would pick up the SK7. It is one on the best performing heatsinks for the money. Thermalrights own SLK800 that is $15 more beats it only by a few degrees. The AX7 is only slightly behind the SK7 probably. If you werent planning on overclocking the sk6 would be ok.

Thanks for the replies thus far.

Has anyone seen any reviews directly comparing the sk6 and sk7 using comparable cfm fans? I've looked, but unsuccessfully. At this point I'm leaning toward the sk6 and saving $10.

If you check overclockers.com there's a tip to use an 80mm fan on an SK6 by putting it on diagonally.

If you want to have low air flow and low temps, it's better to go with SLK-800. SK-7 performs much better with higher airflow that the Panaflo L1A can't provide. Maybe you can pair up the SK-7 a YStech variable fan with the SK-7 and still stay quiet.

I use the Taisol CGK760172 with an AMD XP 1700+ T-BredA. Under full load it maxes out at 45C on a hot day like today. During normal and mostly idle use it stays at 35-37C. It's not very noisy at all and uses all the clips on the socket for great stability. I picked mine up with an AMD T-Bird I bought a while ago. I highly recommend it. Linky
