Need Help !@!@@@@@

Hey hey, I have a quick question about XP.
Basically the video is all messed up on my computer after I run Windows XP. It happens on both XP home and XP Pro. I tried switching out my video card and it fixed it but I'd rather not use an old TNT2.

I have a GeForce 4 4200, so I need to know if there are any drivers or patches I can download that will fix the video. (I already tried the newest drivers but it didn't work).

Thanks for any help, especially from boys!

The screen is too blurry and fuzzy to use. The cursor is basically a spray can from MS paint. Reading text is pretty much impossible

Hmm. Brand new member. WRONG FORUM. No profile. Antagonistic username. Antagonistic sigature. GUTB? Jerboy? Denifloss? Only the shadow knows......

Not EXACTLY a spray can but it acts pretty much the same way. It's like when you have 93840923 applications open at the same time and drag a window around (except this adds colors and they stay on the screen). The whole screen is blurry though so the paint can isn't really an issue here

the cpu is amd xp (1600+)
the mother board is an ASUS A7-M if that matters at all

Oh Mike, not the warm welcome I would have normally expected around here. No girls allowed or something? 🙁

😉

It works fine in 98. There's no way it's overheating. Actually is started to get all blurry and such when XP was installing still. So it's nothing I did.

How else would you have been expecting it? You seem to know more about these forums than a regular n00b would.

Well it's not like this is the first time I've ever been here. My ex showed me the site a while back and I thought all you smart guys could help, that's all

uh huh...

Well, I'll at least try and be somewhat constructive... are you upgrading or doing a full install of XP?

RMA??

I think the motherboard might be messed up though because I used to have a GeForce 4 4400 and it had the same problem with XP (and eventually with 98)

Do you remember what screen during the install process that it f'd up on? (or started getting fuzzy)

Lighting my torch right now 🙂 This could be fun! ;D

It went fuzzy as soon as it went to the "quick and reliable" heading ironically. It was at the installing devices phase of the instalation

Is this a full retail box of XP?
