Need help

Hi guys, I just built a PC - Gigabyte x58 mobo, i7 920 cpu, and a 6gb triple channel mushkin ram kit - 1333
when I go into Win 7, system properties shows 6gb RAM but has (4 usable).
I tried to re-seat the cpu, moved the ram around, still nothing. the weird thing is BIOS shows 4gb....

win7 64 bit. I'm thinking maybe it's the RAM ? It's not on the QVL on the gigabyte site, but how come BIOS shows 4gb, win7 shows 6 ? Is it a mobo issue ?

Try manually setting the timings and voltage instead of using auto detect.

yeah I tried that, no change. BIOS shows 4gb, windows shows 6, 4 usable..... I even tried 3 diff BIOS releases. I'm off to MicroCenter tomorrow to pick up a set of Corsair RAM thats on the QVL

I would try another set of ram or motherboard.

Another set of RAM is what you should do. And make sure you have Win7 x64
