Ok, long time lurker and need help.

Went to install a new hard drive tonight. No biggie done it a million times. Pull drive, install new one. Oooopppps, was the boot drive I pulled. No biggie pulled it back out, put boot drive back in, pull out other drive, big of a tight squeeze between graphics card and memory, but I get it out and new one in.

Boot up......

Now my boot screen has all kinds of lines through it when windows goes to start screen is filled with garbage, and after a minute it reboots by itself. Pulled graphics card, reseated it and no luck :(

Helpfull hint, tips or ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds like you have already guessed the issue .... Video Card is Damaged or the Socket on the motherboard... Do you have another card to try?

Nope, but I will get one this weekend. Have another PC should I try the video card in it?

No, I have not. The video is way messed up during post, vertical lines thought the post screens. Will try that as well when I get home.

Epiloque

It was the video card, may have some issues with power supply as well. Two fans no longer work as well

Are the fans powered through the motherboard or directly from the power supply?

If they are through the motherboard it could be an issue with the board and not the power supply.
