Friend has no health insurance and we want to spend the least possible amount. That is what I need help with.

Symptoms:

*memory loss. She keeps forgetting things and it has gotten to the point where I think she is joking.

*constant headaches. She always has a headache and finishes a bottle of Tylenol every week.

*Sudden mood swings. Gets depressed really fast for no reason at all. One day she is happy then day she is suicidal (just words, not action).

I am not asking for a diagnosis. Just where to go for the cheapest price for her to get checked out. The memory loss is what really scares me the most.

edit: I am in NO way a doctor, just when I hear mood swings and memory problems/loss I think of that first. Go to any clinic in the area really.

If she goes to a clinic how will they test her? They will most likely refer her to someone that will charge $$$$$, correct?
I don't believe student health insurance will cover such a thing (she can get student health insurance tomorrow).

When I was in college, my student health insurance also covered mental health care. The worst thing she can do is check it out.
 
Yeah... I think she definitely needs to get herself to a doctor, immediately. While it's statistically improbable, those are the symptoms that I've seen patients with a Glioblastoma multiforme exhibit. That said... that's a rather severe example. 😉 Chances are good that it is something far less severe (just being stressed can cause those symptoms), but why be unsure? Even if it does cost, knowing exactly what is going on would help my mental stability quite a bit.

Take your friend to a medical profession, deal with the financial/insurance situation after you know what, if anything, is wrong.
 
Either one individually wouldn't concern me too much, but the three combined sound like bad news. This is definitely one of those things you shouldn't sleep off.
 
could be encephalitis, which might show up on a head x-ray, which might be gotten at a doc in the box? Not sure how much those cost. Neurological symptoms are a bad sign though... 🙁
