need help....

i have an hp pavilion xt967 and i just got a new cpu for it..... i was wondering if it will work

here is the cpu...
Socket 423 Intel Pentium 4 1.8 ghz 256/400/1.75V
Used for about 5 years and still runs great
Never overclocked
No bent pins
Throwing in a modified heatsink/fan which was rewired/soldered from a 4 pin to 3 pin connector and works great and keeps the processor cold compared to the stock dell crap I had.
No hardware to mount the heatsink/fan included
link for the cpu is here....

Try it and see. If all the form factors are the same, and your BIOS accepts it, you are OK. If it doesn't, put the old one back in.
