hey im looking at building my FIRST pc this month, i will be gaming and overclocking, i have read the fourms for a while and have come up with the following:

ive got a few questions, is the memory over the top, because its not cheap but if heard good things about it and the dfi board, also any suggestions about the monitor and does the mx700 cordless mouse lag, would it be alright for gaming. This probally sounds pretty dumb but what is the cheapest way to directly connect two computers in the same room for gaming. internet, lan is not avalible, i heard crossover cable could work but im not too sure?

Memory is a very personal thing imo - I tend to use Crucial for its robust stability and sensible overclock tolerance - I have heard and read very good things about OCZ RAM - its a matter of personal taste I think but I'm sure someone will have a comparison for you to show you if your wasting money or not.

The crossover cable is probably the cheapest way of connecting two PCs together, as all it requires are two LAN ports (one per pc) and one RJ45 crossover cable.
 
I know plenty of people who use the MX Duo or just the MX700 mouse for gaming with no problems at all.

If you don't like the wireless mouse you could go with a MX510 which is corded and great for gaming. I have the MX1000 laser mouse. Not sure how the MX1000 wireless tech. compares to the MX700 but I have no lag and great battery life.
 
I feel that you would get a better overclock with the A64 3200 socket 939 and similar board.....but overall nice system...
