Need help zipping files in a folder

Given a directory full of files, I want to zip each one in it's own individual zip file with the same name: <name>.zip.
I searched all over the place and can't find a simple command line or program that can do it. Thanks.

Try 7-zip, pretty sure it has an option like the one you want, another program to try is winace.

Or you write a vbscript to recursively visit a dir and pkzip each file
