Ok... I'm writing up my lab report for my Digital Logic class and I can't figure out how to get the symbol for "summation of"

like if you're familiar with digital logic...

F(X, Y, Z) = __m(1, 3, 5, 7)

__ is where this symbol goes... it looks like a Z kinda......

please help

Ok... thanks.... new question though

I need to make a bar above letters..... like X

how would i go about that in word

😱 sorry.... not the best with word

to write a bar, you have at least 2 options, you could do it the way you did in your post, or you can click insert -> object and select "Microsoft Equation Writer 3.0" the equation writer has all of those kinds of symbols. You may have to install the equation writer, I believe you can check the help file on how to do this.

I'm also in a logic class...I've found it takes a lot less time if you link a shortcut key to each thing. Most of the stuff you need is already in the symbol character map
