Need help with wireless LAN

I got a USB wireless adapter (Linksys WUSB11) in one computer and another wireless PCI card (Linksys WMP11) in another computer. Both PCs are set up for the LAN and I can share resources but when I try to set them up to share the internet connection that's where I get into trouble. In one computer I have a Netgear FA310TX NIC and it's connected to the cable modem. I also have the USB adapter connected to the same computer for the wireless LAN and a proxy server running (a little free program called "Proksi" from cnet.com). The other computer has wireless PCI card in it and is set up to share resources with comp1. When I try to access the internet from comp2 (one that's not connected to the cable modem but is communicating with the other one wirelessly) it is REALLLLLLY slow, and I don't have a clue why? The speed between the wireless NICs shows to be 11Mbps so the internet shouldn't be slow, but for some reason it is...Is there anything that I didn't do right or how can I improve the performance?
Thanks in advance.

assuming you are running w98 or above on these systems, try Internet sharing using ICS instead (to see if it is "Proksi" causing the slowdown).

I'm running Win2k Server on one comp and Win2k Pro on the other. Also when I tried doing the same thing (using "Proksi" and regular NICs intead of wireless) it was working as it should, but when I install wireless cards instead of regular NICs the slowdown begins. I was thinking about sharing the cable connection with my computer upstairs via the wireless route, but as of now it's much slower than a 56K modem.....

WIn2k supports ICS as well. Build-in feature. Use it.
<network speed.
Do not believe what it says, test the network speed, trnsfer some files, measure, time, size, bla bla,
