Need help with Wireless LAN

At my local university where i live, we all have free access to the local ISP which provides wireless service for the uptown bars and coffee shopps. Seeing as my house is located pretty much next door to the ISP we were all using the service. Up until about a week ago we all had service. My connection strength is "Very good" yet when i try to open up IE or aim nothing happens. I asked my roommates about the issue and apparently while i was gone one of our roommates did something to make his IP constant and ever since that time NO ONE else in the house has been able to use the internet. Does anyone have any idea what he may have done and how i can remedy the situation????

thanks

How would doing something to his IP affect your machine? Make his machine obtain an IP address automatically. The ISP could have made it so that you need something to authenticate you to use their service but I doubt it as it sounds like it is a wide open system. Try downloading the program netstumbler and run it to see if the network requires to be authenticized before using it.
