I like blogger as well...though I've thought about migrating to wordpress. The issue for me is that blogger does domain mapping for free, whereas I'd have to do just a URL forward with wordpress, or pay for the feature.

I use Drupal. It has a huge user base so any security, compatibility or bug issues are fixed relatively quickly.
It's a pain keeping up with the module and core updates, but they are pretty easy to update.

I would stick with Wordpress for blog only though.

Oh god yes. I do a few things to combat this:

1) Require a user account to post a comment - no guest comments, period.
2) Three Captchas on the user creation.
3) One Captcha on the comment posting.

It would be a lot easier to have no users, no comments. That's for sure.
Yeah, I just recently turned off commenting and user account creation on my non-profit website. It was too much hassle and no one ever commented anyway. :)

You must be talking about wordpress.com hosting.

Most of us are talking bout hosting your own wordpress site. You can download wordpress at wordpress.org and host your own site with your own domain name.

Also, one of the big differences between blogger and wordpress.com - your not allowed to have a commercial site through wordpress.com. While at blogger, they want you to make money.

Yeah I am already sitting on a domain, I need a host for a website not just a blog.
