I am no longer able to pull up the properties of my hard drives or folders (ex. c:, d:, winnt,..ect). I right click...properties and nothing happens. I've tried in Explorer, My computer, and disk management and nothing happens. I can pull up properties on individual files however.

Its a standalone computer at home, w2k and sp2. This happens even when logged on as admin. I could not find anything specific about this in local security or group policy. Not that I really know what I am looking for/at.

Any thought, hints, tips, rants, ect.. would be appreciated.:<

hmmm...strange, I'm having the same problem too: right click on my computer, try to bring up property, nothing happens. I'm wondering if it's some program I installed on it...

Working fine here...W2K, SP2, Domain based..no relevant GPO's in place (but I don't know of any such setting.)

I am thinking it is a problem with Explorer itself. Explorer is doing other odd things and occasionally hangs. I would like to perhaps extract a "clean" Explorer.exe from my w2k CD. I am definatly unsure of how to proceed. What cab would I find Explorer in and what is the best way to extract it.

Help is alway appreciated........

more info on problem:
I am able to right to pull up the properties of all the objects on my desktop by right clicking--properties. I still cannot through explorer, my comp, disk management. If I copy something from explorer to the desktop, I am still unable to pull the properties of the new folder up, although all objects/icons that werer originally on the desktop work normally in regards to pulling up properties.
