Need help with VirtualDub

I have a divx compressed video file that is slightly too big to fit on a 80 min CD (702 MB). I'd like to reduce the file size under 700 MB without losing any quality in video or audio, so I figured the easiest way would be to crop a few seconds at the beginning and at the end of the video.

My question is how this can be done in VirtualDub (I'd like to know the exact procedure because I find the help files slightly confusing)?

start the selection at the beginning of the movie you can do it on the edit too bar or on the arrow button pointing to the left at the bottom. then keyframe 'til the location you think is enough. then mark that as the end of the selection you will see a portion of the bar as highlighted. then go to edit and "delete frames". save as new avi and you're all set.

you can also use overburn if you are using nero and a over-burn capable CDRW drive.

yup, you can will delete ALL frames between two keyframes. you can't delete some of the frames between keyframes only ALL frames. This is the main reason that I still keyframe pretty often.
