Need help with transferring files from dos...

Hi everyone, I could really use some help right now. My computer got jacked up and now it does not log into windows, but instead goes straight to dos. I am getting a new computer soon and was wondering if there is a way to transfer all my files from my old computer into my new one. I was thinking about using 1.44 floppies, but that seemed like it would take to long. Do I have any other recourses? Thanks for any help in advance

when you get your new computer, set up your old HD as a slave inside it. You should be able to extract information under your new computers environment.

I just read your message again. If you cant access your HD under dos (dir or whatever) than forget what I just said.

Thanx, how do I set it up as a slave? Sorry if what im asking seems stupid, i'm just not a very computer savvy individual. Thanx again

Look at the back of the disk, there should be a jumper there.
Place the jumper in the correct place and voila.
