I sold a guy some Infinion PC-800 RDRAM, I never had a bit of a problem with it and shipped very safely and he just sent me a mail stating:
Thanks for sending the memory, I testet them briefly
the day I got them then this weekend I did a clean
sweep to my machine to install a fresh Windows XP.
Unfortunately things did not go very well, my PC locks
up so frequently so it became unusable also I recieved
Bad Checksum Errors twice (This never happened to me
before) as soon as I switched them to my 2x256 MB no
lock ups happen.
I will not be to hasty to blame it on the memory, I am
suspecting that it is could be that my mother board
(Intel D850 MV) being one of the early Rdram
Motherboard doesn't tolerate the PC800-40 NS.
So I have a question.....is there a good piece of software I can send him to test it with? I will wash my hands of this if it's a motherboard incompatablity problem but I need to prove it.
Thanks for your input, please bump if you have read this far.
