I have a self inflating air mattress that has a motor in it that takes an AC adapter to inflate. The adapter itself has recently fallen into the mattress because there was nothing holding it in place securely.

This picture shows the front of the motor, and the hole where the adapter used to sit.

This picture shows the plug that fell into the motor housing.

This picture shows the back of the motor cover. Notice how there is nothing around this area to hold the adapter in place. There is also nothing inside of the motor to hold it in, which is why it fell in there so easily.

This picture shows what the adapter looks like when it is seated in there properly. There is space all around of it, nothing holding it into place.

This picture is another shot of the adapter in place.

I am thinking that I can fabricate something that would sit along the top and sides, either with a hard foam or something similar that can be glued into place. I could then glue the adapter in there so that it sits securely, and this (hopefully) wont happen again.

1) What would be the best material to use to secure the switch?
2) What sort of glue / epoxy can I use that wont melt the plastic / material that is put in there?
3) Are there any other ways to secure the adapter into place?
