Need help with SCSI ASAP please.

Hello,

I'm a newbie with SCSI but not with everything else.
I recently bought a IBM Ultrastar 9ZX 9.11GB, 10020 RPM hard drive along with a Tekram Ultra Wide SCSI DC-395UW PCI Host Adapter. I installed all parts properly and here's where I run into problems.

- The hard drive is empty/formatted

- I'd like to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server

- After my motherboard detects all the IDE devices (CD-ROM only), the floppy diskette with my Win2K Adv Server Setup won't initialize but instead I get into the SCSI HD BIOS

- How can I get my floppy drive to initialize and read the diskette?

- Is there other way/s of installing a OS on a freshly formatted SCSI HD?

Thanks guys. All help is appreciated 🙂.

Problem is, it won't even read my CD-ROM. After the IDE detection and what it looks like it's going to start loading, it just goes to the SCSI HD BIOS. BTW, my Win2K Adv Server CD is not bootable. It was an OEM copy with one of my servers I bought. I don't know why it's not bootable and no it's not a "burned CD copy". Also I've tried setting the CDROM and floppy as 1st bootup devices without any luck.

Still need help.

Are you sure the MB BIOS is set to boot from floppy first?
Also I think that you need to install Tekram drivers during the install , the old F6 trick .
