Need help with SATA drives

I tried posting this in tech support and got nothing, so I'm trying here. I have the Asus P4S8X motherboard and was using two WD HDDs. But now I'm trying to silence my PC so I bought two new Seagate SATA drives. The mobo has two SATA connectors and a PATA connector that are controlled by a RAID chip. But I would like to simply connect the two drives independently and not in any sort of RAID set-up. Is this possible on this mobo, or must they be in a RAID array?

Also, if I did decide to use the two SATA drive in RAID, would I be able to use Norton Ghost 2K3 to clone my current WD boot drive onto the two SATA drives?

And yet another problem...in preparation for this change I tested out Ghost by trying to clone my boot drive to my 2nd WD HDD and I could not get it to boot. Both HDDs now seem to have all the same files and they both show the exact same amount of used space, but when I try to boot off the 2nd drive I just get a blank screen after POSt that says, "Press any key to reboot", at the top. I've tried removed my current boot drive so that the clone was the only HDD in the PC since I read that having two active partions in a system could cause problems, but I got the same result.

So anyone have any ideas?

Not sure..but you might have to put the Sata chip drivers in there instead of the normal IDE drivers...just a thought..
