need help with remote desktop

I purchased a new system running Windows 7 home premium. I have it setup to use as a headless system. But cannot connect remotely.

The computer I am using to connect with is a xp pro system. Keep getting error not able to connect. Any clues.

Thanks
Bill

Home premium doesn't have remote desktop, only pro and ultimate.

Could try logmein or teamviewer

Win7 Home Premium cannot serve as a server, but you can use it to connect to other machines which are servers. (Win7 Home can use RDC to a Win 7 Pro, but Win 7 Pro can't RDC to Win 7 Home)

Can you ping your XP pro machine? Try using the IP to connect? Check to make sure XP Pro is set up to accept connections? Check firewall on XP pro?

I am trying to connect to.the Windows 7 home from the.XP machine.

Looks like I will have to use teamview or login
Thanks
Bill
