Alright. Downloaded it put my e-mail in whatever. I'm running the client and it did a few things like said 24 in in and 0 in out or something like that. Then it is just sitting there R_ with the _ just blinking. I want to join Team AnAndtech but I don't know if I have completed the unit or anything. I haven't gotten my password yet ...Please help. Thanks.

Hey naka, if you did not specifically ask it to do rc5, it may be doing ogr, which is not necessarily a bad thing. If it is ogr, finishing one of those can take awhile. Sometimes hours depending on cpu. So let it go, the dots will slowly appear. Later, you will have 1 in buff-out, which can be flushed to dnet. Then you can request a password. Meantime, read Paulson's page (linked in his sig), it is helpful. The hardest part is the first 48 hours, where you are not sure if it is working...then it gets fun. Good luck! Good to see you here.
Nakax2....Your e-mail will not show up until after you have completed a work unit (block). The stats are run at 8:00 P.M. EST, but sometimes don't finish until after 1:00 a.m.. If you submit before 8:00 P.M., you should see your stats.
Another good wayto monitor your production is to flush your work through a pproxy such as mine or Mika's. We maintain stats that are updated every hour (for me) and every half hour for Mika.

Ok so I am doing OGR but I want to be doing RC5 and join Anandtech like I'm doing with SETI 
So how do I get it to do RC5.
Note. I reinstalled the client under a different folder but I can't find the config menu for it, after the first load. Right clicking on the cow, config is greyed. Plz help.

Ok I have it to RC5 only, and it says 1 cruncher has been started. How do I know if it is working?
If you want to go to the config menu, open the cow, right click on the white background, and select config.
Then go to "2) Buffer and Buffer Update Options", then "9) Load-work precedence ==> OGR,DES,CSC,RC5" Change the order to this:
RC5,OGR=0,DES,CSC
That should take care of OGR.
If you want to run seti and RC5 on the same machine, then make sure you have the seti screen saver. If not, RC5 won't do any work, cause SETI hugs all the CPU cycles (RC5 only use unused cpu cycles).

If the _ is flashing, then its working. Just wait until its done, this happened the first time I started the program.

I set them all to zero except RC5 and I do have SETI on Screensaver. Ok Wow, my CPU is crapola. Its been running for like 5 or 10 mins and only has 1 dot and the blink thingy. Ah! Can't wait until I build my new comp but the mom says Gotta wait 5 more months (she said 6 when I brought it up in August) Then with my T-Bird 1ghz or the P4 I'll be blowing you all out of the water. :| Naka Has to wait 5 months. Alright. I have the client minimized so that the little cow is in the tray. I have it sitting on the desktop (until I posted this) with nothing else running (well Ctrl Alt Delete shows like 7 things but they are like starter, explorer, systrey etc.)
I am running a P2 350 mhz w. 196 MB SDRAM. How long should it take me to complete one RC5 Work Unit (I have all the other programs turned to 0) It started 30 mins ago and I still only have 1 Dot.

Also where is the best places to find good prices (with a decent warrenty)
And how do I know what Ram will work with what MBoard/.

hehe I would like a T-Bird Socket A but I was wondering. When Intel comes out with the P4 wont AMD counter with a newer and better chip. I don't want the TBird when they come out with the newest processer only a couple of months later.
Sorry, I meant system hardware components, not what is running now. You are right about the processor battle. I try to get as much as possible out of my investment without having to buy many new components at once. There is a chance your mobo will support a faster processor, and from what you have said that might net you the most blocks/$.
No I called my MOBO Manufacturer and they said the fastest it will support is any P2 and I'm not buying a new P2.
I have an integrated Sound Card, and I dunno if the RAM will work.
