Hi, I'm moving into the guesthouse and I need to purchase a new computer table. Nothing fancy, just something that will be able to comfortably fit two systems. My friend has a nice table like that from IKEA, but it cost him around 200 bucks. That is too much, because I=POOR. I gotta get something in there by tonight or at the latest tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

I belive office depot has a nice "L" shaped desk for around $69. I would go over to office depot and office max and look what they got. They have pretty good deals on desks from time to time.

Get a 6' or 8' Banquet Table from Walmart, Costco, etc. I've seen many people use them, they hold a lot of weight and are inexpensive.

I think you would be best served by going to OfficeMax. They have good deals on cheap comp. tables all the time. I got the table I use now (made by Bush) for $50. Of course it's particle board, but it looks pretty decent and serves me well.

Hey guys, i went to IKEA and some other places and the best thing i've seen so far is a banquet table, as Hamburgerpimp suggested. A six foot one goes for about 40 bucks at Office Depot. Does anybody have any experience with these? Are they too plain? I want this new room to be a love shack, so I don't want any of the ladies to be turned off by the plain banquet table...haha.

You can get for $30 at walmart/target, 20 if they're on sale. I've got two 6" tables, originally because I couldnt get a desk into my upstairs apartment. They're not bad...pretty sturdy, but if you get the $30 ones, the monitor will leave a nice impression because of its weight. The nylon/plastic/whatever it is on top of most of them burn very easily if you're a smoker like me. heh. But really, that aren't all that bad. But They're not ergonomic, and to get the most stability you want to push it against the wall, and when you do that you dont have much foot space.

Dude, I think the two computers are gonna be more of a turn-off for your "love shack" than the tables.

Unless, of course, you're gonna stream live porn sessions ;)

There's a problem, i won't have table pushed against the wall. Also, what do you mean by the table not being ergonomic?

I've used a banquet table for a computer table for years...no problems...
It doesn;t look like an expesive computer station, but it will work, and for CHEAP.

<< i won't have table pushed against the wall >>

not a problem, just make sure the table is sturdy (go for the IKEA "custom" desk, as mentioned above, the $30 Wal*Mart one may not be sturdy enough for you).

<< what do you mean by the table not being ergonomic? >>

Try to ignore the gay comments (laugh, by the way)

My opinion...

Two computer stations have no place in a so-called love shack.

Also, if I were you, I wouldn't use the guest room in someone else's house as a love shack. It is plain rude.

I didn't see any custom table section at IKEA. The cheapest table i saw there at IKEA that suited my needs was for about 75 bucks, and I wasn't all that impressed by it. I really wasn't impressed by any of the desks at IKEA, they didn't look that good and they were kind of pricey. What do their custom tables look like? Are they 6 feet long? Sorry for all the questions, i just care about what my systems are sitting on.

The guesthouse is owned by my parents. I'm moving down there, not by choice. I really don't expect the place to be a love shack, just something the ladies might think looks nice, especially since my room has always been too macho for their tastes...;)

EDIT: Also, this guesthouse is really an old garage converted into a mini house. It is behind our backyard, about 50 feet from our main house.

Here's a clue, sport, and don't tell anybody that I told you this.

When you have two systems in a room running 24/7, it tends to give the impression of a server room, and ladies tend to not be turned on in server rooms. (Believe me, I've tried. It doesn't work.)

You might as well resign yourself to a life of celibacy from the get-go and avoid disappointment in the indeterminate future.

TOO EASY. My systems. The right ladies will learn to live with them. Anyway, no girl has treated me as well as my computers...haha.

Thanks for all the replies, I still need some more help regarding this IKEA custom table thing. I was all ready to go and buy a 30 dollar masterpiece.
