Need help with *.psw files

Hello

I have a friend that is having trouble with MS office and his PDA. The documents are coming as *.psw files. Here is the email I got from him.

I have a Dell PDA that I just sync'd w/ my 2 wk old Acer that has Vista on it.
Instead of my files from my PDA coming up on the pc as a "work doc", it is coming up PSW file, which is scrambled. How do I convert the PSW file to a Microsoft Word Doc???

I didnt know where to post this so I am trying here first. This is a new one on me not to sure if there is a converter type program that can change it so he can use this with office 2000..
