Need help with problem

When my computer boots up all is fine, windows starts to load and just after the initial load screen finishes, my monitor goes into "sleep mode". I tried two different monitors and have ruled that out. I noticed the fan isn't spinning on my video card, but if it was the card would i have any video at all?

We need a bit more detail. What Video card, Mother Board, PSU, etc.

My computer does this every now and then and I just keep on restarting and it finally works. But if you can't get it to stop, and you noticed the fan on your video card isn't working, I'd say it's your video card.

Abit NF7-S, AMD 2500+, PNY GeForce 5600+,

PSU is the on that came with the case from newegg. It's an Aspire Turbo Case w/350W PSU.

All this happened after installing a new DVD-R drive. Pulled the drive back out and the problem continued....
