I need a way of making a 2 min video file small enough so that people on a 56k connection can download it in a reasonable amount of time.
I tried to do this in Premier but is still to large (6mb-15mb). Do you guys know of a way that I can get it down to something like 1mb but still be of ok quality? Are there any programs that can help me reach this target size, tricks in Premiere? Any (related) suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You're best bet might be WMV (7 or 8?). Export it from Premiere as whatever you want, divx or mpg probably, then use windows media encoder to encode it as a wmv file. I'm not sure what exact settings to use in there, but there's probably some recommended ones. The quality is good enough and the file size is small.
